There comes a point in all of our lives where the Lord tries to interrupt our story and write His story through ours. Purely His is one way that He demonstrates just that.
“Writing History through your story,” my story.
If you compare what you read in your Bible to the current world events you see in the news, you're likely to reach the conclusion that we are living in the End Times. With the reality in mind that time is running short, the Lord has made it very clear that we are to help others get ready by “going into all the world and making disciples of all men, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all that He has commanded” (Matthew 28:19).
Purely His exists to help people achieve lasting freedom from the baggage of sin and unresolved issues in their lives. This is all done through the grace and forgiveness of Jesus. We exist to help people get “unstuck” so they can be free to go “all in” with Jesus. Hebrews 12:1 states “… let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”. Our goal is to do that ourselves and to teach others to do the same.
Considering the times we’re living in, I am compelled to reach the world for Jesus. I obviously can’t do it on my own. The Lord gave me a vision to reach beyond my circle of influence by raising up small groups of mentors to be sold out for Jesus. Lives will be reached on an exponential level as mentors are sent out into their own neighborhoods and circles of influence to begin their own mentoring groups.
The Lord has also given me a vision for Purely His Mentoring Centers in every state and country. In these mentoring centers we will offer mentoring groups, train and equip mentors and offer one on one mentoring for men, women, couples and teens.
We will celebrate at large gatherings where Purely His groups from all over the world will get together to share what the Lord has done in their lives and continue to learn how to bring others along with them. There will be raw testimonies shared from the stage and breakout groups will be offered for additional healing led by those who have already been set free.
There is a world of hurting people waiting to be reached and we have the ability to reach them, won’t you join us as we are making disciples that make disciples…that make disciples?
Meet the Leadership Team of Purely HIS
Founder / Executive Director
This ministry has been birthed out of my greatest suffering, shame and loss which is now being used for the honor and glory of the Lord. With the healing power of God and the guidance of His people, I have been set free from the addictions and mental illness that once defined me, by choosing to go all in with Jesus and resolve the root causes of my painful past.
I have experienced the redemptive transforming power of Jesus in my life and it is through this transformation that I have passionately dedicated my life to leading others into the freedom I now have in Him. I am a self-proclaimed Jesus freak who will do anything He asks me to do; I am fearless in Him and for Him.
I don’t have much to offer except the story of what God has done in my life and I love to share it. I will have you on the edge of your seat while I share the raw realities of where I come from and the contrast of who I am today. My testimony gives an assurance that He can restore anyone-no matter how ugly their lives have become.
My history combined with my passion and the anointing of the Holy Spirit gives me tremendous empathy and insight as I help people go ALL in with Jesus and get unstuck from anything in the way of that.
I have the absolute privilege and delight to be married to my very best friend and now partner in ministry, Matt. We are a blended family with two sons and two daughters. I absolutely love being a mom and a wife to this awesome family that God has so graciously blessed me with…I’m now living the life I’ve always dreamed of.
God provided me with a healthy, loving, Christian family growing up who instilled strong values and a desire to do the right thing. I have a good career now and two incredible daughters who are happy, healthy, intelligent, considerate, kind and a lot of fun to be around.
For the most part I lived life attempting to be both a "people pleaser" and "God pleaser". I subscribed more to "Religion" than I did a relationship with Him. I often felt God was disappointed in me when I would occasionally miss church, fail to pray, read my bible, or tithe regularly.
My life was on cruise control until a series of large speed-bumps in 2007 got my undivided attention. In less than a month I would lose my dad to cancer and my marriage of nearly ten years. The grief and stress took its toll on me. I lost my home, my peace, my security, my appetite, my in-laws, my finances, my hopes for the future, a lot of weight, sleep...and my hero (my dad).
I wish I could say that the pain ended there, but that would be a lie, so in keeping it real...I prematurely entered into my second marriage with a very emotionally unhealthy woman. It was short-lived, but the emotional damage was extensive.
In 2012, despite two failed marriages, God demonstrated His grace once again and blessed me with my best friend, and wife, Michelle. I was also blessed with two extremely gifted and handsome step-sons who are also a lot of fun to be around.
Through the development of this ministry we have learned a lot about the Lord and ourselves. Personally I learned that God was pleased with me regardless of my efforts. I am living proof that God does not use perfect people to accomplish great works, He uses those who are willing. I chose to go "all in" with Jesus; won’t you choose to do the same?
Board Member / Treasurer
I am the President/CEO of Total Action Bookkeeping which has been in business for 12 years, although 5 years as 5 Star Bookkeeping.
Prior to moving to Oregon in 2002 and starting a bookkeeping business, I held a position as Executive Administrative Assistant to the President of a publicly traded company and then also to a Commercial Land Developer in Dallas, Texas.
When I first moved to Medford I took a position as an Executive Assistant to a president of an accounting firm. During the 2 years working in that firm I found my niche for numbers and bookkeeping. It was through the Lord's blessing I was handed over that business when the owner decided to move to California.
I bring my management and administrative skills to my current business as well as to my clients, as their needs arise.
Total Action Bookkeeping is exactly what it says. We take action in all facets of business to ensure the success of our clients.
A total skeptic regarding Purely His, I joined a group to see what it was about. I wasn’t ‘stuck’ anywhere and knew all about Jesus, but I was curious.
However, after being part of one of the first groups in Medford…BAM! I realized I was stuck and I had no clue what a true relationship with Jesus really meant. I am now free and have learned the tools to stay free along with the support of my Purely His sisters. I am all in for Jesus and have been on fire for Him ever since, and want to share that with everyone.
I have lived in Medford almost 20 years with my husband Rick, who, after seeing the change in me, also went through a group. Between biological, step and foster, we have over ten children and six grandchildren. My favorite things are hanging out with friends and family, camping and being in the woods, and of course sharing the love of Christ through actions and words.
My passion is giving people hope. I buried my past because of shame and embarrassment, but I don’t have to do that any longer. I know that God has used and still is using my story to help others. I encourage anyone that is looking for ‘more’ in their life, or think they are ‘too far gone’ to check out Purely His. If you are willing to do the work, it will work for you.
Doug was born and raised in Oregon and is a true native of God’s Country. He graduated in 1978 and went on to discover his passion for serving God and for over 30 years of his life he has served in the ministry in Oregon, Iowa, Ohio and California. It has provided him with experience in a wide range of duties that include: child and adolescent development, outreach programs, community organizing, evangelism, summer camp administration, and adult and family counseling.
While ministering in this capacity Doug found himself battling Alcoholism. This was a constant struggle and for over 14 years he kept his addiction a secret, not only from his immediate family but also the church.
The struggle of wanting to quit and yet the continual shame of relapse directed him to AA & Celebrate Recovery.
Says Doug: “It is my own desire to take this freedom to others so that they too can experience a new hope.”
In May of 2012 Doug took over as Executive Director of the Foundations for Recovery, a peer mentoring drug and alcohol treatment and prevention agency. Doug’s unique approach through humor, music and speaking allows him to connect with others that suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.
His ability to use daily life situations from his own addiction and secrets and relate them in a humorous format, allows him not only to understand the heart and mind of the addict, but also to communicate to them that they are not alone. He has been where they are.
I was born and raised in Switzerland in a very dysfunctional family. Both of my parents were alcoholics and my mother ended up committing suicide when I was 14. My childhood was mostly lived in survival mode with deep wounds of rejection and abandonment. Fear and despair were part of my everyday life. Control and perfectionism became my life commandments. Professional and personal achievements were driving my life but underneath that success lured depression and insecurity.
I left Switzerland and my dysfunctional lifestyle, moved to the US and married a man who would later leave me and our boys after 30 years of marriage.
This was when God really got my attention. I knew that He wanted more for me and that a life of depression, loneliness, and despair was no way to live.
That’s when I found Purely His. This ministry has drastically changed my life. God helped me forgive, take off my masks, and gave me a freedom I did not think was possible. He helped me realize that I don’t have to perform to be accepted and that control and perfectionism is best left to Him.
Life is a journey and God continues to work in my life but I can now rest in Him, knowing that He has a good plan for me and my boys. I feel blessed to have a great profession and that I am able to run a successful business with God’s leadership and for His glory.
I have found a new family in my Purely His sisterhood where I feel loved and supported and I love helping other women get unstuck and watch them be set free by our glorious Lord.
I married my second husband after fighting with and for him for 5 years, he was a drug addict. I believed he was sober and was going to stay that way…boy was I wrong! (It would be another 18months before he would get and stay sober.) When I first found out he was an addict, I went to church. I can’t tell you why, it had not been part of my life before that, but I just knew it was what I needed. I found love, fellowship, friendship and best of all, a relationship with Jesus. I loved getting to know Him, but I wasn’t “on fire”.
I came to Purely His angry, bitter and in so much pain! My husband had been sober for almost 9 years at the time. I had just been in a terrible car accident; hit by a meth addict on a Sunday morning. I was done with my marriage. I had thought that if he were sober, everything would be great. It was not great, it was awful. I took no responsibility for my part in the breakdown of our marriage and had no confidence that anyone could help fix what was broken.
I had gone to the Lord so many times, begging to get out of my marriage. The answer was the same each time, “no, trust Me”. So I stayed and trusted Him, but I wasn’t happy about it and I let everyone know that. I committed to the 5 month group, unconvinced that it would help. I was so wrong!
I am happy to say, I completed that Purely His group and my husband has done the same. Our marriage is now better than ever! There was healing and the complete restoration of our marriage. I am currently leading my 3rd PH group. I am now “on fire” for Jesus! It is so exciting and rewarding to watch women get unstuck and help them remove anything that is in the way of their relationship with Jesus!
