The purpose behind our mentoring groups is to go “ALL In” with Jesus and to “Get Unstuck” from anything that stands in the way of that. Our goal is to encourage people towards an awesome relationship with Jesus, assist them in healing from unresolved issues, and equip them to serve the Lord boldly by passing on all that they have learned.
Our groups provide a safe place to:
Our mentoring groups are unique. We do not have a specific demographic that we are targeting because struggles aren’t limited by age, occupation or background. These groups thrive on diversity because people learn valuable lessons from others who have different experiences than themselves.
Our groups are diverse by design…everyone coming from different backgrounds, but all headed the same direction...becoming Purely His. All struggles are welcome, including but not limited to pornography, drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, low self-esteem, poor body image, eating disorders, marital problems, anger issues, self-harm, anger towards God or the church, loneliness, abuse, abortions, rape, divorce. There isn’t anything we haven’t heard before and we believe wholeheartedly that there isn’t any struggle that the Lord can’t heal.
We realize that the need is great, but we are focused on quality, not quantity. Which is why we ask people to make a commitment to meeting with their group once a week for five months. Space is limited to eight attendants and the groups are closed once that number is reached. What we do is strategic and purposeful, so we need the most comfortable environment possible to be effective.
The 5 Step Process we have developed is universal and works great for men, women, youth and couples. However, due to the sensitive nature of our conversations, we choose not to mix genders when we get to the personal issues. This includes couples as well. ....read more on the 5 Steps on Mentoring.
I decided to join a Purely His group for one reason; I was sick of being on the fence with God. I knew that I loved God and that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, but I needed to decide if I was going to be all in or completely out. After 6 weeks in our men’s group I realized I was stuck, so I met with a few of the leaders along with my wife and walked through the 3rd step of Getting Unstuck.
After 26 years of guilt and blaming myself for my 18 year old son’s death, I am now free! I’m truly free to love, worship, serve and honor our Lord and Savior. I thank God for this group and its effect on my life has had me in prayer lately about leading my own Purely His group when I complete this one. I want to help others get free like I have experienced and help them grow, while they learn to love and worship our God.
Sometimes people feel like they have to go to extreme measures to make people see how badly they hurt inside. I know first-hand, but that’s a lie. You don’t have to keep going down a path of self-destruction to be noticed, because God notices, even if all the people in the world noticed you’re pain, you still wouldn’t be satisfied, because no one could ever take it away, but Jesus can.
He knows just how bad you hurt and why and He has endless love and compassion to share with you. He knows every pain and He is there every time you hurt, whether you know it or not. He has freed my life from the pain that haunted me every day of my life and He can do the same for you, if you’d be willing to let Him.
Psalm 118:5 “in my distress I prayed to the Lord and the Lord answered me and rescued me”
The women in my Sisterhood are amazing! We laugh, we cry, we hug, we encourage each other and we hold each other accountable. The friendships that are formed in our group will last a lifetime. Every week I witness more of our masks coming off. I feel safe knowing that we can be real and there is no judgment.
Trust has been an issue for me as long as I can remember, but this group is helping me find myself and to grow into the woman of God that won’t be shaken. I am learning how to forgive myself and others. I am encouraged about being a leader in Purely His someday, so that I can pass all of this on to other women.
My hope and prayer is that my story will make a difference in other’s lives and that God will use me to bless others as I walk with them through this journey we call life. I am so grateful that Michelle’s vision is now a reality that will continue to change lives for many years to come.
Our groups are anything but typical or predictable. While there is a curriculum for the mentors to follow, they will lean more on the direction of the Holy Spirit than the curriculum. We’ve been told by many group attendants that the atmosphere we create is different than anything out there. The discussions are raw and intense at times because our mentors have a past and are encouraged to “drop their masks and keep it real.” This sets the tone for the others to do the same. The group attendants are also encouraged to share their experiences with other members, thus learning to mentor while being mentored. Everyone learns from each other and this speeds the healing process dramatically.
The 5 Step process is the outline we use in our weekly group time. Each week there is a different relatable topic that is discussed to get the conversation started. The majority of time spent in group is focused on healing. Our schedule is also built to promote well rounded authentic relationships. This includes a day to serve and a fun night to bond. We also encourage contact with group members outside of the regular group time.
Our groups will produce results because we do more than just sit around and talk about issues, we confront them and work through them. It’s the perfect atmosphere to unload baggage and leave it there, so they can leave lighter and healthier.
Ongoing mentoring and support is offered throughout the week and even after the group is completed through a private Facebook page, small get-togethers, retreats, large gatherings. We also encourage the members of the group to stay in these close relationships because we believe in mentoring that goes the distance.
We are raising up workers from within the harvest, teaching them to go “ALL IN” with Jesus while getting “UNSTUCK” from anything in the way of that. We equip them to reach those in their circle of influence.
